Closed Door Happiness

Abraham Lincoln said "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their mind to be".
What did Lincoln know that I don't?

Making up my mind? It is that simple?   Confusing!   Frustrating!  Does't last!

Was I trying to reinvent the wheel, so to speak?  then I found this treasured insight from Paul

........Php 2:5  "and think the same way that Christ Jesus thought":

I have found that going into my room, and closing the door, (sort of like my grandson does when he wants to play games),  is the cheapest, most expedient, least planning required way to get to my desired  happiness quotient.
"close the door"
                          shut out the world
                          escape from the talking heads
                          procrastinate on the chores
"talk to the Father"
                         HE knows
                         HE cares
He is always available,  it is me that has a cramped schedule
He sees,   it is me who is not focused
My best kept secret......................
He rewards with happiness unknown without shutting the door!
